TREASURY CHAMBERS,

20th November 1907.

Sir,

I am to acquaint you for the information of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty that, in the circumstances represented in your letter of the 14th instant (N.L.4395), the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury sanction the expenditure, as a charge on Navy Vote 10, Sub-head L, of £30 a year for three years on the work of repairing the Naval graves in the Public Cemetery (Happy Valley) at Hong Kong.

As regards the subsequent upkeep of the graves, for which an estimate of £17 a year is given, My Lords would prefer that this proposal should be re-submitted if and when the necessity for such expenditure arises, and in the meantime They would suggest that a representation should be made to the Colony that the graves, when placed in repair, should be maintained by them in good condition.

I am,

Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

(Sd) G.H.MURRAY.

The Secretary

to the Admiralty.
